Training Modes
Clinton Institute offers flexible delivery options to suit different learner needs:
- Classroom-based delivery — face-to-face training at our Melbourne and Hobart campuses
- Simulated practical training — real-world scenarios in a supported learning environment
- Blended learning — combination of online and in-person delivery
Assessment Modes
Clinton Institute uses a comprehensive range of assessment methods to evaluate leadership and management competency. Assessment includes leadership self-assessments and reflective journals that require students to evaluate their own management style, communication patterns, and team leadership approaches. Team management scenarios simulate real workplace challenges including conflict resolution, performance management conversations, and roster management under operational pressure. Performance evaluation projects require students to design, implement, and review performance management frameworks for nominated teams.
Section 2
Strategic planning documents assess students' ability to develop operational plans aligned with organisational strategy. Workplace coaching logs document coaching sessions conducted with team members, including session objectives, delivery approach, and outcomes. Conflict resolution simulations test students' ability to mediate disputes and negotiate outcomes in complex interpersonal situations. All assessments are conducted using realistic business contexts and align with the specific BSB units of competency.
Compulsory Work Placement Arrangements
Students are required to complete practical workplace projects and leadership activities as part of their course to gain real-world management experience. Where students are not currently employed in a management or supervisory role, Clinton Institute assists in arranging an appropriate workplace host organisation for the practical component. The workplace project requires students to apply leadership and management skills in a real organisational context — activities may include conducting a team meeting, developing a performance feedback process, preparing a roster, managing a small project, or coaching a team member on a work skill. Students document their management activities in a leadership portfolio that includes planning, implementation, and reflection components. The Trainer Assessor may conduct a site visit or telephone consultation with the workplace supervisor to verify the placement and assess the quality of leadership application demonstrated by the student.
