Course Description
This course is aimed at developing the existing skills and knowledge of students who have competed related vocational education in Australia at diploma level within Australia and are wanting to continue their studies.
The BSB61015 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management will provide a pathway to work in the private and public sectors of business, and small and large enterprises to manage people and resources in a critical function.
Learner Characteristics/ Target Group
This course is available to overseas students wanting to work in Leadership and Management in Australia who are:
- • Looking for new or better opportunities in their career
- • Seeking to change careers
- • Seeking better opportunities for work and studying in Australia
- • Seeking a pathway to higher education qualifications
Students may have little to no experience in either hospitality service or management or both, however some students will have some relevant existing skills, knowledge or experience and therefore RPL is available to ensure that those are recognised and the amount of training is adjusted accordingly.
Students are expected to have Diploma level skills or knowledge in leadership or management and be undertaking this qualification in order to further build on those skills and knowledge.

Pre-Requisites and Entry Requirements
There are no pre-requisites for this qualification or any of the units of competency contained within it.
Clinton Institute only plans to make this course available for international students therefore all students will need to apply for and gain visa 500 in order to enroll in the course.
Clinton Institute requires that students are able to provide evidence that they:
- • Are at least 18 years of age
- • Have completed studies in relation to management and/or leadership at a Diploma or higher level qualification from an Australian nationally recognized provider
- • Are able to demonstrate a level of language, learning and numeracy skills suitable to this course (test to be administered by Clinton Institute includes written assessment and phone interview)
- • Are able to provide evidence of an IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent (test results must be no more than 2 years old) OR be able to waive English Language requirement as per details of apply course
NB - This could be in relation to managing a particular industry such as Hospitality, Retail etc. or within general business sectors. The qualification must be no more than 5 years old or if older than 5 years, Clinton Institute will require students to provide evidence of having worked in a relevant role within the last 5 years.

This qualification provides a pathway to work in the private and public sectors of business, and small and large enterprises. Possible job titles include:

Students who complete this course may wish to continue their training by undertaking qualifications such as Bachelor’s Degrees in Business, marketing, and management. Please refer to the further higher education study option in University Pathway
Training Arrangements
Students must attend 20 hours of classroom training per week as per attendance requirements for international students. Students will also be required to complete approximately 5 – 10 hours per week of personal study, including additional reading, activities and research as directed by the trainer/assessor.
Homework
Homework may involve students reading their learner guide, completing formative assessments, discussing their work with their trainer/assessor and/or other students and completing summative assessment tasks that are not done in class such as projects or doing independent research into topics being covered as part of their course
Assessment Arrangements
Assessment will occur through a variety of methods, including projects incorporating role-plays, case studies, observation, and written answer questions. Where required, assessment conditions will ensure either a simulated workplace environment (for classroom-based observation tasks) or instructions to complete the task.
Assessment tasks:
- • Reflect real life work tasks
- • Are required to be performed within industry standard timeframes in relation to each task
- • Are assessed using assessment criteria that relate to the quality of work expected by the industry
- • Are performed to industry safety requirements as relevant
- • Require students to work with others as part of a team
- • Require students to plan and prioritise competing work tasks
- • Involve the use of standard, workplace equipment such as computers and software

To complete this qualification students must complete all 12 units listed below which is comprised of 4 core units and 8 elective units. Electives for this qualification have been chosen by the Clinton Institute to ensure that students achieve a broad range of skills and knowledge which can be applied to leadership and management in a range of settings.
